ignition timing

ignition timing

hello i have a 90 firebird with a 3.1 v6 mpfi and my timing acording to the hood says 10`before tdc when my engine was cold it was 14`btdc and as it wamed up it went way off didn't even show up on the timing tab on the engine so i was wounding if there is a connector i am suppost to take off so i can default time it or just time it the way it is but turning the distributor

Transmission: T56, T5
Axle/Gears: 3.42 Stock ZT, 3.42 Open
Disconnect ESC connector, under hood, passenger's side, on main wiring harness near distributor, on firewall, tan wire, black connector poking out of harness with black clippy disconnect thing.
