I took a 3 hour drive back to school and checked my gas milage. I got better milage than some 4cyc around. I got 24mpg out of my 2.8l engine with 130,000miles on it. I think thats amazing. How do you gys make out on trips???

When I drove out to Sierra Vista, AZ from Los Angeles I got just under 30 mpg. 75 for like just under 400 miles without stopping, it's a beautiful thing.

Last year I took the car from Arkansas to Iowa on last minute notice. Kicked the tires, open the hood, yep, got anti-freeze, took bottle of extra oil, and went.
Pulled 25-28 depending on who was driving, and traffic. In town below 32deg weather car was pulling 17 in town.

My motor has 200,000+ miles on it, never rebuilt; Paper filter(the cheapie ones from pep boys); and an Accel Coil. I just figured that i was on almost perfectly flat land and staying at a constant load on the motor, that's what helps the milage most.

186,697 on sears workorder today for front end alignment. As far as I know, no rebuild. Engine starting to get slight tick.
Dual snorkle intake w/ paper filters
Accel coil
8mm wires
new distributor
Crank pully
At that time no suspension upgrades or mods either.

I was really made when i left Sierra Vista too man. I left the windows up one day and slept in the hotel, the heat cracked my dash pad, until that point it was flawless.

Mine had about 167,900 miles when the motor over heated and broke the crank in half, cracked the heads, destroyed a few valves
I rebuilt the engine "kept the original block" Then spent hours tuning and tuning until I was satisfied with the perofrmance. I have generic air filters, I need to upgrade them soon. 180,000 miles and running strong again
