You can fit the 350 in there, what do you think the IROC-Z TPI came with??? Yes, it did also come with a 305, but they are the same physical size. For more info on this swap, check out the engine swap forum. Also, swapping from a V6 to a V8 is going to be VERY involved. You will have to get a new trans, radiator, computer, front suspension, and a whole bunch of other stuff. The swap of choice for most of us V6'ers the 3.4 is the best bang for the buck. You can use the search button near the top of the screen and find the 3.4 swap boogie. It'll tell you everything you need to know and many members have used that as the 3.4 swap bible. Good luck...and BTW, welcome to the boards.

2.8 boy covered just about everything needing to be said. The Small Block Chevy is essentially going to be the same dimensions despite displacement, so you can use a 305,307,327,350,355,383 etc. And all will bolt into placei n your car as if you had a v8 in there. The inherent problem is the transmission, something that drives the price of v8 swaps up is the fact that you also have to include buying a new transmission for the project, this really is probably a more exagerated problem than an actual one, since good v8 tranny's are in bone yards here and there and everywhere and can probably be had for around 100 bux, another 350-400 bux to have it rebuilt at a respectable shop. Think i paid 800 with the guys dropping the trans from my car themselves, rebuilding it, and reinstalling it with a vette servo and a trans go kit, also holds better line pressure (larger boost valve). Hopefully the area that you're in isn't emissions controlled, if so your swap options have just got narrower and your swap harder. IF you're in a smog controlled area, expect to use an engien from your model year vehicle or newer, then also expect to put in the computer and wiring harness along with all necessary emission sensors. So, if your not smogged, go carb, go v8, ditch computer and wiring if feesable, redo what ya got and have soem fun. But it'll still be a lil bit of work, don't ever get us wrong.

I think you should consider getting a custom supercharger. You can probably get injectors, fuel pump, MAP, etc. from the v8 thirdgens.
That'll be really cool. If your successful, do a write-up, and we can follow in your footsteps.

You gonna need alot of stuff... So my advice is get a camaro or firebird w/ a V8 that the body is shot on or something, as long as the drive train is still good. And just transplant it over.. It would be alot cheaper that way... Thats what I plan on doing.. But I want to add a few more "goodies" to it...
