Stupid woodruff key (in the crank)

I can't get the old one out of the 2.8.

Anyone have a part number for Napa or something, or know where I can get a new one? I was gonna get one from Autozone, but they only have these little ones. Will they work?

Hammer and punch the same diameter as the key is wide would work too, with less nicking of the shaft surface.

Or, if you're really mad at the thing for being stuck in there, a decent set of vise grips would work wonders, but you have to put the jaws on the ends of the key, not the sides...

Someone tell me what the heck a "woodruff key" is. Is this some term someone made up?

Well, there are two (that I've worked with, anyways) types of keys that are used in shafts to hold things in a certain position, like the flywheel on a lawnmower engine (standard key) or there are ones that are used to hold a gear or pulley on a shaft in a certain position, these having the same shape on one side as the standard key (square/rectangular), but have to be mounted deeper into the shaft for more holding power at high speeds, so they have a half-moon shape to them from the side. That is a woodruff key.
