Shifting Issues

Alright, when I'm driving my camaro on the highway, and I give it WOT, it seems to just keep revving all the way to redline, without switching into a higher gear. I also might not have all my vacuum lines set up (I have this one vacuum line that goes into the intake, it's sort of like a big stopper, goes into a thin wire, and than ends with a little nub. It didn't start unless something was blocking air entering the nub, so I put a screw in there for now). What could be the problem?

700r4 is not vacume controlled.

Sounds like high gear is gone. Mine didnt have 3rd or 4th, clutch packs were bad.

When you let off the gas, does it shift into 3rd? My original GM trans did that for about a year, and then it died. Only way to fix that is with a rebuild.

it will not go into 4th at WOT if that's what you mean. the "kickdown" cable will make it drop into 3rd gear, passing gear, and then it will not go back into 4th, OD, until i think its 75% throttle or less.
