Dipstick tube removal???

Well, I decided to put on these hedman headers that I have had laying around but have a problem. On the driver's side the dipstick tube is in the way. There is no other way to mount the headers other than having the tube go between the header pipes. But, there is no way to get the tube in between the header tubes. I am wondering how do I remove the dipstick tube. It looks like it is pressed in.

would it be possible to notch the support bar to allow it to pass?

I don't think so because that would mean cutting the flange of the headers and I dont really want to do that. I guess my problem is that the flange of the headers won't allow clearance for the dipstick tube. Maybe my only solution is to cut the tube so the flange can mate to the head and then reattach the two pieces somehow.

The tube is pressed in, but to get the one I snapped off on my 3.4l, I had to screw in a dent puller to get the nubin out. Prying on it only caved in the sides.

If you VERY gently bend it after you unbolt it, you can manuver around it. Thats how I did it on my s10 engine.

I flipped the engine upside down, and tapped it out from underneath. Of course, mine was on an engine stand.

using a careful firm grip, you SHOULD be able to bend it out of the way....

but it is only pressed in, so if worse comes to worse, you can remove it... you'll just have to pull/pry/twist it out.
