car dead again. wondering about regulator or computer
The car ran fine throughout the week, although it seemed like it was using a little more gas than usual. Went to start it again this morning, cranked, fire's 1 or 2 cylinders and dies. Played with gas pedal to no avail. Got spark. Distributor haden't moved but I moved it around a little just in case, but it made no difference.
The O2 sensor isn't too old
Fuel pressure reads 41-42 at fuel block while priming.
Unplugged the MAF and tried it, but still no difference
When pump stops pressure drops to about 38. I guess thats normal, but I'm not sure.
I'm pulled the upper plenum off to check out regulator, but I must wait till tomorrow to get the torque bits.
Now if a regulator is really bad, could it keep the car from running at all?
Or could the IAC keep it from running.
Or does it sound like maybe the computer is screwed up.
That's all I can think of at the moment. I'll add more if it comes to me.

what should i look for when testing the injector signal? Or for that matter, how do I test the injector signal? I'll try the book too.
I'm gonna start looking for that GM service manual.

Ok, so what I gather from the book wire diagram, I'd put the tester on the black/pink wires on the passenger side and the black/green on the drivers side. And then if it flashes then that would indicate a working ecm?

I had that problem too. I would unplug your 7th fuel injector. This is behind the intake right next to the dist. I bet its flooding your car. Unplug it and then try, if nothing, make sure your plugs are not soaked in gas. If they are clean them, and leave the 7th injecter unplugged and then fire it up. I bet it will start!
The injecter if for cold starts in the morning, but screws up a lot.
