V6 Problems
Ok guys i have a 92 RS with the 3.1L and a T5. I have 4 problems with the car.
1. It heats up then once i drive the temp drops right away and sometimes it wont heat up unless i let it sit for 20 minutes or more, i tried a new thermestat and i have an adjustable thermestat on my fan so i turned the fan off- i have no heat and its freezing in NJ at night
2. Im stalling out- when i push in the clutch it revs up to 3500RPM untill i come to a dead stop then somtimes maybe 1/10 stops itll stall. I have a new TPS sensor, maybe IAC?
3. I Idle at 1700RPM, i pushed the throttle set screw all the way back and set the TPS sensor to the lowest it will go- what else? thanks guys.
4. About once a month i go to start the car- it wont start, i get the lights when i turn the key but it doesnt even try to kick the starter- i thought it was the silanoid getting stuck but I bought 2 new starters and it still does the same thing, is there a relay somewhere. If anyone can shed some light id apreciate it thanks.

Hmmmm.....
2 and 3 sound like it could be an intake leak. Test for one by allowing the car to idle when cold and spraying starting fluid all around the intake and vaccumn areas, if the rpm jumps or somthing pops, its got a leak. as for the heat...I dunno, mine has the same problem....But I live in Texas too sooo......

How are your vac lines? Check for leaks EVERYWHERE in the vacuum system. As for the heating problem, maybe you should have your core backflushed to remove crud from the system. If that don't work, swap in a new heater control valve. Check the heater controls to see if they have adequate vacuum or if they leak.
For the last problem, Trickster may be able to help. It sounds like that is possibly caused by the VATS system.
