the 3.1 is better in many people's opinions. some do prefer the 2.8 but was used for much longer, that's the reason you see more about it. the 3.1 produced 5 horsepower more and i think about 20 ft. lbs of torque morer than the 2.8 did from the factory. the 3.1 was only put in 90?, 91, and 92 camaro and birds. other than the fierros and FWD cars.

More power=Better I'd keep the 3.1 if I was you...They are a solid motor.

3.1 (I think) has lower compression. Great candidate for turbo/supercharger/nitrous.

Stock 8.5:1 dished slugs. Very good candidate for forced induction.

Is your superior 3.1 stock or do you have some mods? How does it run? regular tune-ups? That's the only way to find out if you have a "Crap engine" in my view.

first off i'm not bragging on my v6 i don't see a point in bragging on a gain of .3 i was just asking which is better to start off with, as for my mods i don't have much, new chip and a muffler (were in there when i bought it) i haven't added anything because i'm still trying to work out my accident (just got the body parts put on, and also another problem that it has a funky engine speed problem, it revs up and down on its own while driving, not idling, but driving, and until i get all this crap fixed i'm not putting on any power adders, so no i'm definatly not bragging:lala:
