heater contol valve???

heater contol valve???

last winter, i had great heat, now i have no heat, hopeing its not the heater core(too lazy to take dash off), does anybody know where the heater control valve is located, or would that be the source of my prob, and blower still works great.

the control valve is on the passenger side of the motor right next to the fender. The coolant line that comes out of the front of the motor and has the off shoots for the TB coolant passage goes right into it. It is a black plastic thing with 3 heater/coolant lines connected to it and a vacuum line connected to the top.

I think mine's a slightly different setup w/the vslve under the dash, controlling the flap to let air thru the heater core as the hoses go directly into it.

my heat wont work unless I tug on the bottom vac line on the control module. Some how it leaks not creating a good suction.

Yank that dumb composite heater valve out and bypass it- before it cracks on you. I've seen that happen too many times; I'm glad my car doesn't have one. (That heater control valve started in 1987)
