does these other lines affect idle?
I disconnected all my vac lines going to the evap and egr. Im left with only one comming from the rubber boot thingy on the TB.
Now i have an idle problem, too low, I checked the iac its fine. I still need to check the tps but i was wondering, Does the other vaccume line that comes out of the rubber boot on the TB have ANY affect on idle at all? Can i be idleing too low at stop lights because this line is plugged? heres a pic. You can see i only have one line now instead of two.....

Well, that particular issue is covered in the Service Manual, heading of "Drivability & Emissions" . That's your free hint as to the idle problem

edit: also, egr reintroduces unburnt gas back into the combustion process.

helooooooooo. I was out getting me a "new" one of THESE .
You're starving the idle air of the vapors from the evap cannister & what unburnt gas the egr supplies to the mix w/the removal of the lines.

Thanks fo the reply, i think ill reroute the vent line. I opened up the vaccume line on the rubber boot in the TB and it idles much better..EGR is closed at idle isnt it?
Are you going to get a differnt hood also?
I love the formula type hood im trying to get one now.My hood has a patched spot on the front from the crappy bra that was on it when i got the car. Its not noticable but i know its there and it bugs me.

I think it is, but I never realy had to bother w/them.
I was trying to get a formula hood, but the dude said he wasnts to keep it incase he gets tired of his NEW HOOD , the bastage
Oh well, I'm gonna paint the wing black w/lots of flexy stuff to prevent cracks.

Those ram air hoods look good too.I just cant spend $500 on a hood. Theres WAY better things i could do to my car with the money. cough 3.4 cough.
I've always liked the formula hoods, I have a chance to get one for $50 but i have to go pick it up and since the firebird is my only car i have no clue how im gonna do that.

If all else fails, leave the old one at home when you go to pick up the new one.. sure, it'll be ghetto, but only as ghetto as strapping the new one to your roof.. you want the car to look like crap on its way to or from picking up the hood? Can't look good going both ways =P

Driving mine w/o a hood past 2 days, LOL.
Amazing how much cooler the engine stays, and how much them strut mounts flex over bumps
