Why does my car hate me?
What up everybody,
okay a few days ago my car started bogging down as soon as i would shift into third and wouldn't let up until it was over 1700 rpm. i looked around here and among other things, saw that the problem might be in the fuel filter or pump, so i thought i would replace the filter and see what happened. One of the steps to relieve the fuel pressure is to remove the "fuel pump" fuse and run the car until it dies. I have a '92 RS 3.1, and in the fuse block there is no "fuel pump" fuse only INJ# 1 and INJ#2 so i pulled those out, because in the 89 model INJ 2 was also labeled F/P. The fuel pump still buzzed away, but with the 2 inj fuses out it of course wouldn't turn over. I replaced the fuel filter and triple checked to see if the flow was the right direction and also changed the plugs since it was a nice day and all the tools were out. When i put the fuses back in and tried to crank the car, it would do nothing but turn the flywheel and not start up. I checked the pressure relief on the fuel rail, and it's getting gas, it's also getting spark, so i'm at a loss. Any ideas why it won't crank?

Check to make sure the fuses are good and securely seated in their holder. Also, when you change the filter, it sometimes takes a couple of trys to get enough pressure back in the line to start the car. Sort of like the old carburators with the mechanical pumps where you had to prime them good to get fuel pressure up.

the fuses are definitly in there and i've been cranking the engine for two days now. I think i might have somehow messed up the injectors. Thanks!
