Fuel Pump Location

Is the fuel pump on an '88 Camaro 2.8 in the fuel tank, or on the engine?

I have just looked over this whole site and i have come to the conclusion that the search button is broken! I have found at leaste 10 new threads that have been talked about many times before.

Sometimes, its just easier to ask it again. And I dislike the search, because when im looking for info on the T5, I cant even search for it cuz theres a stupid 3-letter-word-limit! What the hells the point of that?

And most of the time when you ask again its annoying. Besides you are supposed to use the search feature BEFORE you make a new post on any subject. I can see your case with the t5 but this subject is way beyond the 3 letter min.

In the tank. Next time, do use the search button. We don't care if you like it or not. Most of us have probably spent 2 hours searching for some little bit of information before we've found it instead of posting a new topic.

I am putting my 355 in, and I dont feel like dropping the tank to take the pump put, so what pressure regulator should I use? Or would it work if I put a mechanical pump on and had 2 pumps?

You should go to the engine swap forum and read the v6 to v8 swap sticky

As much as you'd love to get around it, you're dropping the tank. The V6 fuel pump will leave a 355 starved for fuel no matter HOW you do it.

if its a carbed 355, you would need a 3 port fuel pressure regulator with a return line thats it. adjust the pressure to whatever the carb needs and your done. No need to mess with the fuel pump. People have done this 9573405743-57-36843 times in the engine swap forum.
