Need Some Info About The MPFI V-6
Hey im a new member and i got a 1986 Pontiac Firebird with a 2.8L 173 ci Multi-port fuel injected V-6 and i need some pictures of the engine in specific i need pictures of the back of the upper intake (or whatever you want to call it the thing with the silver circle saying MPFI 2.8) at the back where there is like a T shaped connector where two lines plug in each side. I bought the car in april of 2003 complete with only a bent pushrod (which was a lie i have checked the pushrods and have talked to others and they say that its a connecting rod) but anyway i had a person look at it to help me fix it and he just started pulling wires off and tossing them in a bucket well about ten minutes later i said "stop, i'll do the rest." But it was allready too late he had the upper intake off, pulling on the fuel rail and i had a bucket full of parts. I bought on ebay the 2000 page 1986 Pontiac Firebird factory service manual, the chilton manual, the hayes manual, parts list guide and couldnt find out where and what connects back there. Also i have a small (about 6 inch) piece of s bent black metal that goes somewhere near the AC Compressor that i need help locating where it goes as well i would appreciate any help i can get on this thank you. I have looked on countless sites looking for the answers in pics but each engine picture for each year had a different look.

On the T in back....
The larger size goes to the break booster, with check valve.
Other side should go to your HVAC hose that goes into firewall. It may also have a one way check valve too (my 3.1 does)
S bracket is a 2.8 thing, so my 3.1 wisdom wont help on it.

thanks i will check for the hoses/wires again tommorow i could not find them the last couple of times i looked. Also i just remembered that i have 3 or 4 unconnected wires just below one of the circles in the dash (i think its under the oil pressure gauge) that are behind the plasic of the gauge caseings if i can remember right its a gree, yellow, and brown i think that connect to one of the 3 switch prongs. The hippy i bought the car from said i had a fixed mast antenna but when i replaced the front fenders i found that i had a motorized antenna does anyone knows what colors go where? and will 4rth gen seats work in my car with my seat brackets or do the 4rth gens seat brackets just hook up in the same place. thanks, i know i have alot of questions but you have to remember this is my first 10 year several model interchangeable car (82-92 camaro/firebird/trans am/z28/iroc/rs/ss/xs/ssa/formula/berlinetta)

Like previously stated, the larger hose from the tee goes to the booster. That's a given. The smaller hose goes into a check valve that has the HVAC tubing connected to it, then on to the cruise control system and vacuum tank located in front of the driver's side front wheel.

red/break booster looks fine.
I dont think the blue is hooked up right though???
It should go to the right a little bit to a hard plastic line (provided you still use/have heat/air). Then you have a vacuum canister under the left front battery tray area which I have removed on mine.
Gimmie few, I try and take pic

White "t" is one I created for ease of vacuum tester.
Other black "t" is the one way check valve I spoke of earlier. The plugged line on it is the one that went to the vacuum bulb I removed.
Other line is the one that goes to HVAC, line is just below area pictured, and runs thru firewall.
Again, this is a 3.1, but should be very similer.

thanks everybody i got them hooked up right i do believe because those 2 were the only hoses loose in the engine bay, and they fit perfectly there was a big hose for the big part of the "T" and a small hose for the small part of the "T".
