Finally sold my yellow 89 Firebird... I tought I was gonna cry...

Hello,

just to let you know I have finally sold my 1989 Pontiac Firebird last week for 1800$ US dollars... When I saw the guy go away with it, I tought I was gonna cry, man does it hurts. Had the car for 3 years, it was my first car too. I had other cars but this one was the real first one that I always came back too. Oh well, I needed cash badly, but don't worry I will join the rank again in a year or two when my finance get better.

For now I'm looking into a real cheap 92 Pontiac Sunbird LE Coupe that is for sale for 685$US here that looks to be in good shape and with a new head gasket. With the remaining money I will pay some of my debts etc...

I will still look at this board tought, I like it so much! See ya guys!

Man you HAVE been trying to sell your car for a while. Glad ya did....even though it wasn't for a WHOLE lot, you got a decent amount out of it. It's always sad to see a car you like drive away as someone else's. Like when I sold my Camaro....but I still see it every couple weeks. She messed the front end up so she put a bra on it....and the paint on the top is completely eaten through and starting to show rust. "Sigh". My poor baby...

lol...Once a third gen lover, always a third gen lover.

Sorry to hear that.

I would never give up my car, even if it meant living in it

Careful what you wish for.. I knew a guy who lived in his 92 RS for at least the better part of a year.

like hell! i used to have a jeep charookie. i tried to find room to do....... somthing... that you would normally do in a bed. not much room. i can't imagine trying that in a firebird. or actually sleeping for that matter. not as roomy as you might like.

by the way WaOnFire. good luck with your $$ situation. when you do get another 3rd gen i bet it will kick ***. maybe you can buy that one back one day. somone once said somthing verry profound. ( i think it was agood2.8) "never sell your highschool car. to many memmories" he said evn if you have to keep it in your backyard with a blown engine....

well i don't completly agree with him.... i sold my old sazukie samuri long ago... ...don't have any regrets. but if your financial situation allows it would be nice... good luck man

OUCH! I'd never be able to sell my camaro, and I did end up sleeping in it for a month once.

Xophertony...with very few adustments it's very comfortable to sleep in, and there is room in a thirdgen for "......... something".

Extracurricular activities are quite possible in a thirdgen, as a few of my ex gfs would confirm if you dragged it out of them. Way roomier than the Escort one of them had at the time... and I'm 6'2...

Theres plenty of room, just tilt the passenger seat back and your good to go. One of my gf's was 6ft tall and I'm 6.4 dident even take the t-top off. But yea I know what you mean about selling a car. I sold my 82 FS bronco years back and I miss it alot it was my 1st ride and it had seen plenty of action in high school. I see it every once in awhile beat to crap rusted up real bad since the current owners live in the mountains. I miss my Z28 almost as much but at least I was in it for its final ride, damn idiot SUV drivers

Precisely. The "fun" is in getting both parties IN the passenger seat, though

Err... yeah.. anyone got some tech content to add?

Here's a little tech content... If you have problems getting the passenger's side seat to lean back, then just take the plastic piece off the side and use a screwdriver and a hammer. Then later replace both seats with a set from a fourth gen. The girlfriend will also be impressed with the upgrade and more fun is likely to ensue.

another good way for plenty of room...is to lay the back seat forward and throw down a blanket...this gives you a lot of space when you lay the front seats forward as well...and this also gives you...umm...better "positions" for "sleeping"...umm...tech info...umm...be careful as the latches on the back seat will bend...hows that for tech info?
