bellhousings for swaps anyone?
I am involved in a beginning group purchase on another online car club that is going to produce transmission bellhousings for various engine swaps.
The deal...
A Foundry has been found that will produce a viable bellhousing if given a mold. Right now this is going for a Mitsubishi 2.0 engine/trans swaps.
I am here asking if anyone here would be interested in a bellhousing to adapt the T56 trans to the 60* family? If so post here or here

I would definitly be intrested in a adapter for a T56 on a 60* engine.
Would work well with my future twin turbo setup.

Transmission: DYT700R4 custom inerts and conv.
The parts already exist.
Use this adapter plate onto the back of the 60V6 block to mate the standard "T5" (not T56) Bellhousing.

Then use a "T5" to "T56" adapter plate between the bell housing and the "T56" trans.

A new crossmenber and shortened driveshaft are then needed.

Well, I know it could be done that way but it would prove to be too expensive. The whole idia of the custom bellhousing is to just mate the tranny to the block and every thing would be the same as a t-56 in a V8 third gen that way all the crossmembers and Driveshafts are readily available with out hassle and costly custom work and if I might say very time consuming.

Costly custom work is unavoidable in this situation. The adapter plate may easily prove cheaper. Input shaft lengths? Pilot diameter? Custom clutch? There's no easy out. There's no offer here to build the mold, just to cast it. That's the EASY part. Alot of research and a working model is required before anything's going to occur concerning a mold.

I over looked that fact because of the clutch size and the shaft size and length.I think I'm going to stick to the T-5 swap.
I was wondering though, there is this company that offers a rebuild kit for t-5's (V8's ofcourse) for higher performance vehicles up to 650lbs.ft of torque. I wander if the kit would work with the internals of the V6 T-5. That would be cool, since I'm planning to go with the twin turbo setup...
And please don't give me the "it's not worth it"
bull *hit because I made up my mind already.

Some of the internals of the upgrade might work... most probably won't. Anything attached to the input shaft won't because the V6 T5 input shaft is 1" and the V8 T5 input shafts are 1 1/8" diameter. I'm not an expert on upgrading V6 T5s.. I'm still trying to figure out how to put a V8 T5 behind mine, personally.
