Exhaust questions

I have 3 questions...

1. What cat-back system do you guys like?

2. Which aftermarket converter do you guys like?

3. Has anyboby tried those Pacesetter headers yet?

Thanks.

most guys go with dynamax cat backs

pretty much all aftermarket high flow cats are created equal...you could always gut your cat and run a straight pipe through it...

and no one that i know of has tried the pacesetter headers yet...i couldnt even find them on pacesetter's website...

I like my dynomax cat-back for my 88 Camaro. It sounds pretty decent considering I only have a 2.8L. My brother's 86 Camaro also has a Dynomax cat-back, but with a Flowmaster muffler. It's louder than mine and sounds great. I just got a new cat., but I'm not sure which kind, just an after-market direct fit. Luckily it didn't quiet down my car!

Welcome to the forums, Nicki88 and Rebel92!

I also have the Dynomax cat-back, part # 17493, Summitracing.com part # WLK-17493. I like the sound, other people like the sound, and I even got a performance kick that I didn't expect when I put it on.

I have a Catco highflow cat on there right now; I guess I like it, it helped me pass emissions so I could really care less.

Before the Catco, I had a "Products for Power" (supposedly Dynomax) high flow cat. But I put it on in 1997, and at some point in the past few years, it self-gutted itself... the catalyst broke up and went somewhere (hopefully not in my muffler, dammit).

Before the PFP cat, I bought the car with a gutted cat. Didn't realize until I removed it to put the PFP on. Didn't notice any change in performance OR sound when I put the PFP cat on. And when I just put the Catco on, after having another gutted cat (the PFP) on, I didn't notice any change, either.

Summit's actually running a deal on the Dynomax Super Turbo Catback. You get a free hat and shirt with any exhaust system. Figures... they didn't have that kind of thing when I needed to buy mine! See the promo details at http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...rget=promo.asp and see the catback details at http://store.summitracing.com/partde...rt=WLK%2D17493

Hey, welcome...

I've got a custom VP 3" mandrel exhaust, that I'm planning on making a recording of with the turbo in, to see what you guys think of it.

Only problem, is it's using a Flowmaster, and I haven't gotten the Bassani muffler I want yet
