How safe is it?
Today while playing under the hood, I went to remove the spark plug boot. I tugged on it and it came off. Unfortunatley it left the metal contact on the plug. Stores are all closed now and I have to go to work tomorrow. I pushed the spark plug boot back over the plug and went for a short ride. Seemed to be no problem. How safe is it to drive with a spark plug boot that is barely contacting the plug?

eh
It's fine for now? Surprised it's not missing. Just get you a set of wires tommorow, preferably ones with a 90* boot.

If you've got some free time on your hands, I highly reccomend the universal (assemble one end yourself for custom fit) Accel super-stock radio supression core or spiral core straight boot 8mm wires. In an independant study, they rated obscenely high in terminal/wire/boot bond strength.. I've been thrilled silly with mine for years. Bloody invincible so long as you don't lay them on an exhaust manifold.

I'd also be willing to reccomend MSD wires, primarily because I love vari-angle boots and their kits come with a super-nifty bench vise operated terminal crimper and wire stripper.. very useful tool, but the kits are really overpriced.. managed to snag the tool off one of my buddies and use it for accel sets.

yeah.. 2333 ohms/foot is so horrible compared to the 10k-15k ohm/foot stocker stuff.
I will point out though, that's the radio supression core specifically. You get what you pay for.. radio supression core is cheaper than spiral core.. spiral core is much lower resistance.

Nah.. I don't roll my eyes at people.. I let them ponder the obviously flawed comment and figure it out themselves. What can I say, I'm weird.

Mine lasted six years. I don't guess engine fires count as normal operating conditions, so I can't say anything bad about them.
