I wouldnt pay a dime over 500 USD. That car seems little more than a decent motor.

Sounds like a decent deal then, for a 4 bolt 350. Hopefully it too much if any internal work.

be prepared to get your hands dirty on that engine

try filling the holes with a tube of that muffler cement and some mesh wire. 6$ a tube couldnt hurt to try until you can score $$ for parts

the headlight bar looks cracked as well, but you have one on your other car.

i would buy it up though. can be cleaned up nice.

needs some good cleaning a z28 facia and some ground effects

edit oh be careful though, thats not the original engine. unless youre good at wiring or want to learn about wiring you may have to do some work. take it for a drive and make sure everything works

and if the car sucks, well its worth the 500$ in parts that you will need for the next car.

heck 3 broke cars should have parts to make 1 sweet one.. no?

I think between that car, the '86, and a sandblaster + a phosphoric acid rust eliminator + a *GOOD* self-etching primer and underbody coating, you oughta end up with a sweet ride.

Not a bad deal but i do not like that 2nd pic. That look like left over oily coolant goo all over that floor pan. He may of blown something at speed before. Can it be driven? Id just see how it ran. Even a 305 should be able to roast em off or spin the back end around from a stop sign.

yeah gumby i think that is dirt, cause when he got it he said he had to drive it home in the pooring rain on crappy tires, and he lives on a dirt road, but i plan on checking everything out before i buy it....

there is one thing that scares me tho, the vin up by the window says it's an 88 v6, whihc it definalty wasn't, and teh one on the hood says it an 87 LG4, which seems right... so i don't know if he changed the top one for insurance or if it was wrote off once upon a time...and also i'm going to check the numbers on the motor cause that could still be the original LG4 right?

.... I missed the year part. 88 V6 or 87 LG4.... okay, NOW I change my personal opinion about that car. I wouldn't touch it with a 10' pole. Yes, all 88s had GFX. Find something..... cleaner.

here's what he is saying...

(MOD EDIT -- Egads!!.. here's a cleaned up version)

1986CamaroSC: the vins say it was either an 88 v6 or an 87 v8
1986CamaroSC: but going by the engine bay and car it was neither
1986CamaroSC: but thast no biggie
Seller: haha **** only knows with that
1986CamaroSC: do you know if it was in a n accident
Seller: did ya get to check it out at all
1986CamaroSC: ?
1986CamaroSC: yeha i took a bunch of picstures of it too when i was tehre
Seller: nope i dont think so i didnt see any damage at all from an accident
1986CamaroSC: whta happened to the front bumper
Seller: i dont know it was like that when i got it
1986CamaroSC: yeah, thats what makes me leary, could have been an accident,
Seller: like i said shes needs lots of tlc.......i dont know whats up with the vin but i got papers to it so **** it
Seller: i checked the ones on the papers and they matchj
1986CamaroSC: whats the "papers"? sont know if we had those in nfld
Seller: owners papers with the vin on it
Seller: and other ****
1986CamaroSC: oh cool, so the papers say 88 v6?
Seller: ya exactly
1986CamaroSC: ok
1986CamaroSC: too bad the battery was dead, would have started it up yesterday
Seller: did ya get to check it over ?
1986CamaroSC: a bit
1986CamaroSC: but i need to see underneath it better but it seems solid
Seller: it needs like pretty much what i said
1986CamaroSC: yeah, i'd like to see behind that bumper cover tho
Seller: front ?
1986CamaroSC: cause if thats messed up you wont be able to sell it to anyone
1986CamaroSC: behing the cracked cover
Seller: oh you could of pulled it out and checked it if ya wanted it was just stiched up so buddy could drive it down its fine no even dented
1986CamaroSC: oh, wonder what he did to it then
Seller: belive it or not
1986CamaroSC: yeah thats weird
Seller: pretty dirty too eh
1986CamaroSC: yeah, thats nothign tho
1986CamaroSC: ill send yo uthe pic i took ok?
Seller: k cool get any engine pics ?
1986CamaroSC: yea
1986CamaroSC: the engine looks like it might leak oil,
Seller: just around the valve covers
1986CamaroSC: yeha prooably needs the gaskets
Seller: i was gonna take it out and paint it orange and put chrome valve covers i got on it and get a alumionum intake
1986CamaroSC: ahh cool
Seller: whats the pic of the tag on the body off of the hood ??
1986CamaroSC: that the vin that says 87 305
Seller: where is it located ??
1986CamaroSC: hood
Seller: oh so it might be a 87 hood ??
1986CamaroSC: it IS an 87 hood
Seller: oh ok i see
1986CamaroSC: but the car isnt an 88
Seller: u got some good pics of the underneith tho
1986CamaroSC: yeah do you know if it has the vin stickers still on the doors?
Seller: no i dont think so
1986CamaroSC: ****
Seller: they were just stickers wernt they
Seller: why ?
1986CamaroSC: cause i want to know what the car really is
1986CamaroSC: cause a lot of the time when ppl switch vins its because the car was totally before and rebuilt
Seller: well it dont look too rebuilt to me man
Seller: lol
1986CamaroSC: hahah, yeah but sometimes you wouldnt tell until somethign happens to it, you know what i mean
Seller: not really
Seller: no man the car is in excellent shape underneith straight framr rails not welded or anything like that the car i would say has never been majorrly damaged at all just not taken care of
1986CamaroSC: yeah, it looks that way to me too
1986CamaroSC: but i wanna know why the vins dont match
Seller: it doesnt even look like its been painted for a long time so you should be able to see and fill comin out by now
Seller: what vins ? the hood ??
1986CamaroSC: well the vin on the hood doesnt match the one on the car, but im fine with that
1986CamaroSC: but neither of the vins is correct for that car
1986CamaroSC: and it looks like original paint
Seller: why not its a camaro isnt it ?
1986CamaroSC: yes its a camaro, but one vin, the one inside the dash there, says it is an 88 V6, but the 88 camaros all had ground effects
1986CamaroSC: and the other says 87 305 camaro, but it has stuff in the engine bay that only a v6 comes with
Seller: maybe somone changed the whole front end maybe somone robed the ground effects off ofit
1986CamaroSC: nope, see if the ground effects were robbed, the mounting rails would be on the rockers, you cant rip those off, without having big holes all down the rockers
Seller: i dont know whatever man if ya dont want it i dont care like if it bothers ya that much

Well no one in this thread seemed to notice the non AC heater box.

Looks like a total pile but of course that car would go for $1800+ here in insaneville colorado. I'd stay away from it usually if it looks like a pile on the outside the engine is a pile. Yea its a 4 bolt 350, rebuilt not too long ago and guess what its a 200k LG4.
