60* Interchange

Which engines besides the 2.8, 3.1, and 3.4 RWD versions can bolt up to the 60* trans? I need a short block and finding a FWD one, I have found, is cheaper than an RWD one. I've seen the 3300 V6 FWD bolt pattern (from an early 90's Ciera) and it looks similar to the RWD size and pattern, but is it really the same? I just need a short block so heads and all of that jazz isn't any real problem, since I am keeping mine.

I don't know about the 3300 but GM's RWD metric I-4's and the 60*-V6 shared the same bolt patern for a while.
The V6's T-5 was used on V6's and I-4' that's what it was made for.
You can put a FWD V6 in a rwd you have to make bolt holes for the starter bolts on the block.

Now how do I check the mounts? I already know that they are so soft I can "squeeze" them with my fingers. I know that usually they harden with age but mine are pretty soft.

What I meant is FWD motors use different mount points entirely... I'm pretty sure the bosses for RWD mount brackets are absent on the block casting.

Doh.. I kind of figured that out just after replying the last time. I might be able to get a hold of a RWD 3.1 sometime in the next couple months if I can get a hold of the dough...
