ECm question
ECm question
What is the baud rate on the 3.1L ECM? Also what data logging software options are there for the 3.1`ECM?
I tried searching but could find definitive answers. Found a whole lot of so and so is going to be devloping software for the 3.1, but could find any "real" software. Depending on the baud rate I may have software that will work.

8156 I think. Not sure been a while since I checked out my source code. Was actually going to re-write the whole thing this weekend given if I have the time.
Cool thanks!!! Just in case any one is interested this guys software may work. It appears to be only for GM ECM's with 8192 buad rate. It's under the free software header.
Tomarrow I will have to build my cable and try.

Ok made my cable, but the software is a no go. Pasky let me know when you finish please!!!!!
I was struglling a little bit with how to make the 8192 cable. I used the 160 baud rate diagram as a refernce. Here's what I did. can some let me know if it is rong? thanks.
Red circles are what I didn't use, and the red line is ware I belive I needed change the pin so it would use the 8192 baud rate.

That cable won't work for 8192 baud communications. The 8192 baud systems are bi-directional. You must use the two-transistor interface, rather than the single-transistor unidirectional 160 baud interface.

Or this.. (basically the same thing, ignore the pinouts on the lotus aldl side)
And you *will* need the 10k ohm resistor between ALDL A and B

I'm not sure offhand if you can pick up +12v from the ALDL. I get mine from the BAT connector on the fuse block.
Ok I tied into the fuse block, but still a no go. all though it appears that I am now working with a good cable. As soon I set the software to log the data it locks up. It conects to the ecm,but barfs after that. So it looks like my search for software that works is still on.
Thanks for all of the help!!!!
