Where can i pick one up for my 88 firebird. Chevy wants $150.00. Is this the right price for these? I though they were cheaper? ANy help would be great. Also my Advanced Auto parts does it sell it. Thanks

We got one from NAPA (for Redraif's car), I think it was around $50...not too bad I thought. We sold it on Ebay for probably half that when we swapped the 3.4, you might check there first.

Damn, a few years ago they just wanted $50 from a dealer. Did you try another dealer? What about online like http://www.carparts.com or http://www.gmpartsdirect.com ?

walk back to advance auto.
tell the guy to look in the book.
(he'll make a funny face.)
then get the manager since the high school summer job parts jocky you're talking to has no idea how to look in the book.
then they can order your balancer.
it should be around $80..... ive bought 3 of them for various motors at advance..... i used to work there.

Go find a used one from a yard.
Eventually your 2.8 is gonna die try to make it "work" a bit longer for less.
Ask an automotive engine rebuilding place for some help.
They'll have a few lying around.
Use your "in hand" example for a perfect match.
You are bound to get a very used good one, as lots of dead 2.8s at automotive rebuilders.
IF ya spend over $10, ya spent to much!
PS I'd start price shopping GM dealers.
Take the given part number, phone aroud & see what the other GM dealer says. Eventually I find one that wants my money more by offering me a lower price.

heres a hint for every GM dealer.
take the part number and goto www.gmpartsdirect.com
the price BEFORE shipping is dealer cost.
so you know they wont go below that.
most dealer markups are around 40%
