You mean 60* v6's aren't a serious power plant?

I'm so very dissappointed. I expected to run 10s with my 3.4

There is no way in heck this guy is running 15.6 never the less 16.6 even with a stock setup AND heavy rotation 315's on the rear. Try again kid, I'm not buying it.

He said stock cam... 3.1 + T5 (4.03 1st gear) + 3.73 posi = jumping out the line, pretty hard...

I think once he gets to the track, he'll really find out what he's running

Hey Doward, His quote from above: "I can even hang with 4.6 2v Mustangs now! (not the sticks though, they get me pretty good out of the hole )" He's not leaving that hard from his own admittion.

I caught the stock cam part way down the post, thats why I reponded a 2nd time above, I still can't edit.

Those ZR1 wheel/tire combos will postively be ADDING 1 sec to his time. Thats alot of rotation mass to turn and will kill his effort. Trust me I know- I run 335/30-17 race rubber on the back of the Vette and I can tell a diffence between those and the 295/50-15 street rims that we run on it (even with massive HP). If it can slow down a 540hp vette, it'll certainly be detrimental to a 150hp Camaro.

Don't know much about the engines' internals... I bought the car with the engine pretty much the way it is. If I knew exactly what was in it i would have posted it under the mods in my sig, but i don't want to be mis-leading. \

And the tires definitely made it a little slower, but the handling makes up for it

Oh and thanks for all of the warm (and not so warm) welcomes. I think with all of the critisism and BS I might as well just go away and forget i ever registered here. Not the kind of stuff I was looking for

You modded the car but dont know whats done?

Anyway who cares. As said before you have not gone to the track yet so all numbers are guessed

I didn't do any internal mods... The cam sounds stock so my guess is that it is stock. I bought the car from an auction and found out later that it had a 3.1 when the headers went in. It had a slomaster exhaust on it when i bought it too. Sounded like @ss.

that is the major opinion of alot of the boards I am a member of. Some of the "Core" guys stick around. But alot of people that are very knowlagable in specific areas leave.

To be honest this is one of the very few boards I still toll around in.

He's right, don't get discouraged. There will be a few people that talk crap, but it's worth it for the knowledge gained (usually), some people find things hard to believe, and I don't blame them. Best just to ask tech questions, and not delve into V6 "performance".....

well, it has been my observations that is someone speaks against the bunch, they are attacked.
If someone speaks about something new, they are attacked.

And it is really sad. Alot of "new blood" come up with some really cool ideas, but none of it is seen because of the "cool kids" in the club squash it.

yea, take it from me and FBOD...don't try to tell anyone, especially outside of the v6 board, that you're car is fast or can beat "this" car or "that" car. him and i got into it a little with some guys on the street racing board, we both just quit talking cause guys would call us liars whenever we said something. but, don't get discouraged, hang around. believe it or not, you can occasionally get into interesting discussions around here without people wanting to kill eachother.

as far as the TB, how much bigger is yours over stock? and, please, if you talk to that guy, let him know i'm interested in getting one done for my car. other people might be too. do you have any pics of the inside of your TB after being ported?

As from me, I had an 88 camaro with a 2.8mpfi, 3:42 posi, 245 50 16, headers, 2 1/2 catback (dynomax), custom cold air, don't remembar the compcams camshaft specs but had obviously more duration and lift..., and was thinking it was a fast street ride till I dropped to the track with a 16.71 I was beaten by many crap jap cars and some golf too... Then I finally swap for a 5.7 tpi nearly stock and saw a mountain of improvment!!! Torque cannot be compared and this is wehat you really need to move this beautiful heavy f- body. I was running a high 13's at the beginning wich is not considered special at all.

I don't want to say that V 6 are not capable of anything but from my past experiences, I was humiliated many times and couldn't take more frustration

Your car is a very nice ride (look like mine) 91 Z28 convertible artic white. And we do have different goals and that is correct...

i know that my car isn't the fastest thing around but its fun too drive. the suspension is basically stock and it handles pretty well. it'll set you back in the seat fairly hard. and, its a sweet looking car. i'm gonna have some new dyno numbers in 3 weeks...my baby's goin back on the dyno on the 14th of next month. we'll get some fresh numbers on it to see what i'm at right now. going to the quarter mile next saturday to get some more times. lets just hope it doesn't rain and its not tooo hot.

Hey man, I will take a look of your timeslip as soon as they are posted! If you reached the high 14's I am sure you would shut some people here (specially me)...

The main thing is trhat you are happy with your ride. Here in Quebec and Ontario, the main thing for an f-body was to beat any mustang. As from now, things have chanfged... We are now confronted to Rx 8, Eclipse and Vr6... I personnaly remember having trouble to beat an S-2000 on the highway with my 355tpi 3:73 gear!! So we cannot stick with a GM 6 cylinders... Or we would be out-raced

Good luck and hope for a decent temperature...

Speaking of replacement for displacement and Mitsubishi motors with crazy hp/liter.....
http://www.turbotrix.com/

First US street driven 9 second EVO. They don't post the dyno but come on, you need quite a lot of hp to run 9's...
