car sputtering and stalling
I have a 90 3.1. Drove it the other day and the thing started sputtering real bad. I could have it floored and it would only go about 35mph. It has only stalled once. Drove it the other day and it was fine, no prob. what so ever. Then I drove it a day later and it started again. What does it sound like to you guys? Im thinking it is probably the fuel filter or fuel pump. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

I'm agreeing with you about the fuel filter as of now. It's cheap...so you might just try replacing it and see if that doesn't fix it. Cheap insurance.
Other things to think about are bad plugs/plugwires/cap and rotor...or weak ignition.

How do you relieve pressure in fuel system. My book says to pull Fuel Pump Fuse labeld FP, but I dont see a fuse marked FP. Thanks for any help.

for some reason, i'd almost trust unhooking the filter off the car and letting the pressure bleed out down there, especially far away from engine componets, such as exhaust manifolds, or possibly that arcing sparkplug wire that has yet to be found.
