I think i'm going to sell her

I am sick n tired of all the problems. I just can't take it anymore. All of the problems, I dont have the time to deal with these problems anymore. So I guess i'll sell it. If someone bites, she's gone.

It doesn't keep the power, once it's jumped, it works fine, but as soon as I turn it off, its gone.

The main problem is me, I just don't have the time, nor effort to work on it anymore.

ok a question...
1. What amp alt do you have? As in your sig/discription you seem to have a high amp sterio setup.

If you are pushing more than 200 watts, you NEED a higher amp alt, or else your going to keep fring batteries, AND alternators.

My camaro at one point had close to 750 watts going through it. It also had a 140 amp alternator, and I never once had a low battery, even after 6 years. Hell I even sold the battery when I did sell the car for 100 bucks. Guy also wanted to buy the alt and I said no way, it is being swapped into the new project.

If I remember correctly, the 140 amp cost me 180 ish. All new parts, lifetime warranty from the place I bought it and everything. Again, the alt was over 5-6 years old and still put out its published ratings. 95 at idle, 120 at 1500, 140 at cruise, all at 14.5 volts. And yes, if you made the mistake of hitting the output plug on the alt while the car was running, you FELT it. Trust me you felt it...

Duals can be cheaper and better.

autozone 108amp alts for $60 each , end up withs 216 amps for $120, I have never load tested one after several months or evena year of use but two should work better over the long run.

Dont have anything to do with the cheap crappy alternators from autozone. Do yourself a favor, take your alternator to a shop that specializes in starters, alternators, and electrical motors. Have them rebuild it to the best specs they can. Mine was built to 140 amps. The better the shop, the better the results. Get a good battery, none of this walmart, autozone crap. Get a yellow top, something along those lines. If you just do it right now, you wont have all the problems later. BTW, 140 amp alt. and yellow top worked fine for my system, and it was 600w amp.

I can uderstand that. My first car, a Ford Probe did the same thing.
Haven't got any problems with the RS yet, but can't wait. I know I will get them.

I have a 500 watt dual sub setup in my car, stock amp, die hard gold battery and haven't had any problems once. I only lost power when the car sat over winter and I didn't start it hardly ever.
