i was looking through the jegs catalog and i saw a really nice air scoop with red butterflies and ive always wanted one on my car and i was wondering do they make a intake manifold to put on a 3.1 and then i could put a carb on it and then the air scoop

Interesting....
First off, will you see a gain : Probably. This setup was designed as an upgrade for 2.8L 2bbl V6 cars (trucks actually). With the right Cam, I was told the 390 cfm 4bbl and manifold could boost power close to 50 horses. If you know someone who has GOOD exprience tuning carbs and picking cams to match them (for your particular displacement), I say go for it. Get a big enough cam, port the heads, machine the valve seat on the intake side and add that. I REALLY want someone to purchase that setup. Personally, I'm tired of all the BS that comes with fuel injection, too many things to go wrong once you start modding. Go all out chief, let us know if you need anymore help.

Transmission: 700r4....not stock either

yes you could just buy the stuff, including the scoop...but without swapping it, you won't have it on your car. that type of scoop doesn't work too well with FI motors...its hard to make it functional. somebody on here is trying to adapt a LS1 TB to a v6 but i don't see the point in doing that, escpecially on a stock motor. the new TB i'm making isn't going to be as big as an LS1 TB and i think it should be big enough for even my setup. anything over about 60mm on one of these motors, stock, i think is way too big. LS1 TBs, stock, are 75 mm i believe, the one i'm making will be about 65 or 66 probably. we'll see when i get all of the honing done on it.

but they dont make performance parts for the 3.1 intake like performance throttle bodies and high plow plenum like they do for 5.7 and carb'd motors
