Pacesetter Header Update Hopefully

Well, thanks to whoever posted pacesetters header part number off their site, I contacted Summit with it asking if they could get it, how much etc etc.

Just about 10 min ago, they emailed me back. Said to expect them forsale on their site within 24 hours.

Heres link they gave me...
http://store.summitracing.com/esearc...&Ntt=psm701206

Also asked, whoever places orders, enter salesman 1314

The race is on

i cant wait to bolt em up. im hoping these will bolt right up and not be a problem like other headers ive heard of, where you have to use the two-tank hissey wrench to get everything to line up correctly.

I'll definetly have to get a set... If nothing else, a Y pipe compatible with the turbo kit, and headers, would be nice, wouldn't it?

Waiting on Summit to have a good link. As soon as a good link is available, this gets cleaned and merged with the sticky, which also gets cleaned. Way to go, Dale

those look like good turbo headers. especially with the driver's side collector already pointing a little bit forward.

On second consideration - I'm going to wait, until one of you guys gets them. I want to make sure they'll fit well, first, before I start fabbing a TURBO Y PIPE FOR THE HEADERS!

I'll let everyone know how they fit if they dont mind waiting about a month. 3 weeks before they are at my door. Then bolt them up and get down to the exhaust shop to have them make me a, um, pipe for racing with dump off in it

I just dont have a way for sound clips

All the info I have pulled from you guys, I wont mind being the pig for once. Then I'll also have braging rights

Wonder if I need bolts for these?

Call ARP at 805-278-7223
Ask them for some 12 point bolts for this operation.
Definetly copper collector gaskets for this package.
I still have the copper collector gaskets on my Corvette headers, been there for several years, too.
I used to blow out those paper ones in a heartbeat.
I serioulsy doubt you'd score copper engine header gaskets. Find some steel core Fel Pro's.
I sent Mr. Fred Gerle a thank you note for hearing us & our cry for performance help.
I can't wait for my set up to appear one day.
After the tranny swap!
SOON!

Pacesetter's bolts suck. go down to the local hardware store, and pick up some stainless steel bolts - that's what I did

PS So does Hooker & Hedmans! Somethings just need come upgraded & it seems header bolts is one of those items. That's why there is ARP!!! Along with the papergakets supplied by most manufactures. But reality is that most stuff supplied, works well. ESPECIALLY THE PIPES
Let's not let this topic/thread go negative.
This is a thread of REJOYCING
WE NOW HAVE STREET LEGAL HEADERS WE ALL CAN BUY!!!!!

Hey way to go, Karl & Fred G @ Pacesetter! Damn... now it's either fix the rust, or buy headers. Hm. Altho I gotta fix the rust so I can drive the car, so I guess the welding comes first.

I can't wait to see the EGR fitting... good deal! And thanks for the part #s, CC_Hotrod! Altho I think the coated set will turn into "72C1206" on Summit's site (PSM-72C1206), that seems to be their naming convention.

Did anyone get a price on the ceramic coated set?

Okay, I did some sniffing- they've got a CARB EO number! CARB EO number is D-439-6, assigned on 6/1/2004! Here's the links to the info:

Put D 439 6 into this page: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...es/amquery.php

or go here for the CARB Datasheet that lists our motors and Pacesetter's part numbers for these headers:
http://arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/de...eo/D-439-6.pdf

Too cool!

Thank you for finding that Tom. I had no idea the process was finished 2 months ago- thought we'd a heard about it sooner. Great news. Now I can FINALLY put headers on this motor.

And thank you Karl, thank YOU Karl, THANK YOU KARL! Its hard to express gratitude in words.

I guess mine should be on my door by end of september, and hopefully a week later on the car.

Now that I know a few sizes, I can order parts next payday to help put them on.

Does it come with the Y pipe? That might explain the price difference...

How cain they make so inexpensive???

Volume.

The 3.4 F-bodies were only made from 93~95.
The 2.8/3.1 cars had an 11yr span. Can these headers be bought/used for earlier carbed versions, and by those who don't need to worry about CARB , why yes it can. And there are stil those who have upgraded their 60* motor to a bigger 60* mill, and want more performance increases too.

Well their "only" for 85-90 models

Way I look at it, only reason it wont work on others is a smog pump hole. I dont have one of them

It appeared to me that 85-92 used same manifolds, so EGR mount should be the same (what are them ) its the "stand" or "adapter pipe" that is different.

Even the 93-95 used same EGR mount.
