MPFI to Carb

Can a MPFI 2.8 be switched to a carb setup easily? I already have the complete fuel injected engine and a complete carb'ed engine. Would I just switch the intake and distributor?

Ive been lookin through the Haynes manual and the heads seem to be the same. Kretos you have the exact same Camaro as I do,year, colors, and tranny, but I replaced the 2.8 with a 355

no, you shouldn't have to do anything with the heads. 5.8, are you talking about switching the v6 to a factory carb setup? if so, i wouldn't do it, the stock 2 bbl carbs on these motors were not good for power. if you're talking about putting the edlebrock 4 bbl setup on it, go for it, it's not too hard.

I have been trying to sell my 2.8. A guy wants it, but his is a carb'ed 2.8. He dosent have the MPFI wiring harness and neither do I, so I was thinking mabey he could just use his carb stuff.

And what about a fuel pump? Are the fuel injected 2.8's drilled for a mechanical pump?

i'm not sure if you could put a mechanical pump on it or not but you can run the stock electric one and put a regulator inline.

Thats what I did with my 355, but the guy that wants this v6 dosent have an intank electric pump. I know he could buy an electric pump to go in the engine compartment, but dont know how much money he wants to put into this.
