Swapped motors have extra hoses...
I just swapped in a 89 camaro 2.8 into my firebird. I have some extra houses i don't know where they go. Two hard plastic ones attached on the front of the drivers side valve cover (not the pvc pipe). One is thicker than the other. (I think these are supposed to attach to the gas fume cannister thing). The other is a metal pipe that comes out from under the motor right above the passenger motor mount. It is about 1/2" diameter and kind of angles towards front of car. My old motor didn't have this so I have no idea where or what it goes to. PICS PLEASE
One more question, do exhaust donuts wear out or just break? I now have a leak around that area and not sure if I should buy new donut and put in. The old one is still in one piece.

The two plastic lines running over your driver's side valve cover go to the charcoal cannister (gas fume cannister). The other hose sounds like the EGR line that runs to the upper intake. It should be ribbed stainless, I believe.
I had solid metal donut gaskets when I pulled my 2.8. They leaked after the engine went back in, so I replaced them with new gaskets that were much softer and fit better. I don't have the O'Reilly's part # handy, but I remember they didn't have the # in their computer.

Actually the second pipe you are talking about, the metal one that comes from underneath the engine, is probably part of the A.I.R. (air injection reaction, or "smog pump" system). If your engine doesn't have an air system, or doesn't have one that attaches to the driver's side exhaust manifold, then you don't need this one.
edit: Now that I think about it, you swapped the whole engine, so does the new one have an air pump (connected to the belt system below the alternator)?
The exhaust donuts should be replaced with ones that have a softer gasket material. The old ones can crack and will distort, causing leaks.
edit: I got the new exhaust donuts at Canadian Tire, they have them listed.
