Question on how to use nitrous

Ok this may sound stupid, but I have never used nitrous before on a car with a stick.

Are there any special considerations when using nitrous on my 3.1 with a T5? should I let off the nitrous button when shifting, or will the micro switch on the TB take care of that when I back off the gas in order to shift?

Yes, you'll definately want to run a WOT activated switch with nitrous on a Manual car. Auto's can get away with running a push botton system, but no stick shifters. I suggest doing searches on the net, there is alot of very usueful info about nitrous oxide usuage out there. Learn EVERYTHING about it before you decide to use it. It's remarkably safe and reliable when set up and used properly.

I don't know. I wouldn't use NOS in first gear. Its way to short and would probably be way to easy to over rev. Id also not use it till around 2000rpm. so a WOT switch may not be the best bet.

If you got a good tach you can see, id run a push button system. So it only goes off when you want it.

launch it like a bi.... do a full rev, hit 2nd and you should still have well over 2000Rs so then just mash the button. let if off. shift and mash it again and again.

You should probably install a rev limiter to keep your motor safe.

Launch it like a bi... ? Thats normal driving for me, well if you ask my wife it is.

A rev limiter sounds like a good safty item to have. As well as not using it in 1st. I agree that 1st gear rpms go up extreamly quick!

Thanks for the help guys! I am designing my own gauge panel to house better gauges and all the switches and crap I like in the car. So a better tach in better view will happen before the nitrous goes on the car.

The nitrous button is over rated.

Would be neat to have a fighter pilot stick for a shifter.

It has them cool safety switches for nos plus a couple of other buttons. Put the horn down there. If its a camaro you could rig up the brights on one. So you could flash people easy before a hi speed pass. rig another for the fake brake lights. So people think your braking when you not / accelerating.

Fake break light sw., that is a good idea for over here.
I think mine is simple, but I designed. It is for the Z28 not the V6.
