alright, you start the car up, it's fine. Drive the car round, feels fine. Car reaches operating temp, still fine. Get up to say, oh, 40-50 mph and it's acting very fine till you go to slow down. when you decide to brake, the car seems to be "pulling" forward, as if the engine is still pulling it. hmmmm, ok, maybe i'm feeling things right...no, definately not.
So, i pull into a driveway to turn around (after the car had been acting a tad funny, no biggie, driveability is still fine, but acting as i stated before) Anyway, put the car in neutral when ireached the apex of the driveway, and was gonna just let it roll back down the hill. Get this, as it's in neutral, the car revs up. I'd expect some rev as the engine is no longer under load from the transmission, however, this time it really revved up. Pulled probably 3 thousand on the tach (mines not accurate w/ the 4th gen unit installed, so it's a guesstimate). Neway, when the tach hit was reads 4k on the band (probably really the 3k mark, or close) the engine fell on it's face. Didn't die or anything, just dropped back to idle, then it revved up to the same point again, then fell back on it's face to idle. It continued doing this until the car was put in gear, and i drove it back home. got in the driveway, and tested it again, did the same thing in neutral, and did it again in park. Kinda akward. So, i shut the car down, and restart....problems gone. Was like, "hmmm, that's strage, ok" let it sit for the night. Came back today and drove it again, no probs at first, same probs later, can turn the car off and on, and probs are gone again....has anyone else ever experienced these issues? It's not a heat issue as the car hasn't cooled off prior to having the problems going away, thinking sensor issues, maybe TPS, but not sure. Gonna check wires @ the dist. (as i was tightening heater core hoses the other day, might bumped something) but that's kinda doubtful that it's my issue. Also though IAC valve, but that would give me a problem all the time, least i'd think it would. I could knock the throttle blade closed some, but kinda like where it's seated right now, and i doubt that would really improve my situation...any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

hey dow, would the IAC issue give me troubles all the times, or just in the times mentioned...thought it'd be a little more regular...maybe i'll unplug the battery and reset the computer, see if that makes a difference once the car learns how to drive again.
thanx so far

i went ahead an unplugged the battery for a while i researched some stuff for other board members, plugged it back in, and did the "reprogram me" test drive...took the car down a couple of 40 mph roads, one 50 mph road, and the highway, not giving it anything above part throttle until i pulled onto a nice 35 street where i gave it a little hell. The problem seemed to die off, atleast it didn't appear whiel i was driving just now, but more likely than not it's a temp fix, and things will creep back up once i give the car enough time....so, only time will tell.
