update on project badbird
to date this is a list of mods i have purchased for my car:
msd 6al
msd gm blaster and direct gm harness
new oem dist.
conrad red cap and rotor with brass inserts
new brake lines fir driver side
'90 formula rear wing
i still need to get a lot of parts for her(including dowards turbo kit),lol, but with any luck she should be ready to show for the spring of 2006. plans for her are :vertical doors, ram air hood, rear disc with 342 or 373 posi, hotchkis rear susp., subframe con nectors, and completely custom interior and sub enclosure, hoping to stirp the car down to bare bones and have paint and body done this spring, along with getting a new 2.8 shortblock also this spring.

Hmm....never heard of project badbird before. Just kidding
Why a 2.8 shortblock? you could just use a 3.4 shortblock and call it a 2.8 and have more power if you are going for show purposes. Or better yet, put in a 3.4 and call it a 3.4 since they never came in thirdgens it would be just another mod.
Have you done any research on vertical doors? That may be tough since our doors weigh like a ton each.
Since this seems to be an all out show car, I would go with the 4.10 rear, still more fun to drive. When you actually do drive it.

the reason for the 2.8 is an ongoing goal/argument, people have told me in the past that i can't make a 2.8 that would smoke a mildly built 350, hence the reason for choosing that particluar engine, yes i agree that a 3.4 would be nice, but i may save that (or a 4.3) for project number 3. and yes i do realize how heavy our doors are, right now my body guys and i r working on that, think we may have come up with something, no details yet but hopefully everythnig works out well. and as for driving the car, yes it will be driven duringh spring and summer, early fall, as everyone in my area knows winter in new england sucks hardcore, lol, altough project number 2 may get 4:10's like i said this first one is a goal set to prove some people wrong and to bring our 'birds up a notch on respectability, hell about 10 yrs ago they told me i couldn't build a 225hp 1.8 VW jetta gli, guess they were wrong, lol.

on the gears, if you want to put doward's turbo kit on it, i'd go with 3.42 gears...no more, and no less gear.

OH man. A stock 2.8 + my turbo kit = DESTROYED 'mild 350'.
Do some suspension mods - New lower control arms, and a LSD in teh rear are a MUST.

I'm hoping to start producing them late February. Just making sure I get all the ducks in a row, so it'll go as smoothly as possible

sorry I got outta control... I was really considering getting a new trans am... but of course always keeping my old bird forever... but now I may just wait... and see how this kit works out... you dyno'd the 3.1 doward? I must have missed something... time to do some searching... IF THE SEARCH ENGINE WOULD WORK
