Mandrel bent Y pipes for stock exhaust?

Is there any desire for a mandrel bent Y pipe for the stock exhaust manifolds?

I'm just curious... looks like I could build them for about $150-$175 each.....

They'd be worth a solid 5-10hp, over stock - more if you have a catback!

Also, Feb25th starts the Turbo Group Buy In - I'll have more details on the 11th

How much would a place charge me to have it installed? Does it require taking off your entire exhaust?

I don't really see the point...
PaceSetter Headers and Y-pipe are only approx. $210. For $35 to $60 more than this $150-$175 mandrel-bent y-pipe, you'll get headers as well.

Do you have a shop that does mandrel bent pipes? I can't find one around here. I will need a decent system run on my S10 one day.

I bought my mandrel-bent y-pipe back in 1996; made by AP, cost was $180.

(laughs) Beats me, actually; I installed a ton of things all at once! That's actually been a bummer... people used to ask me "did the ADS superchip make the car feel stronger" or "how did the spark coil help" and I couldn't answer 'em. But it sure as hell can't hurt. One note; the stock Y-pipe is double-walled, the aftermarket one I bought (and any pipe that would be manufactured by anyone) is a normal single-wall pipe, so the exhaust does get a little bit louder.

Yep I did, but I didn't know that until around the year 2000 or so. I replaced a ton of parts all at the same time (my second restoration) in 1997.

I bought mine at a real auto parts store (not Pep Boys or Strauss or those other fake "glitz" stores), the kind with the concrete floors and dirty counters and greasy parts books.

Any exhaust shop should be able to build you one, but it'll be crush bent.

Autozone and Advance, DO (IIRC) stock the Y pipe, but it's like $160, and it is crimp bent.

Hence why I'm asking if any demand to build one for the stock setup, mandrel bent

I had thought that the pacesetter headers were priced somewhere in the $300 range. Has that changed? Cause I mean this y pipe would be a heck of a lot cheaper than that.
