Does anyone make a better blower motor?
Yeah..I know winter is almost over...and my heater blower motor sucks.My1993 Cavalier has a much stronger air flow that you can really feel in the car and the Camaro can barely be felt on high.Is this indigenious to Camaro's or is it about time for another one?Is there another that will fit in and plug up to replace this one?The vents seem to be unobstructed.

My firebird blows really good heat once it's warmed up, which is nice cause it leaks oh so much through t-tops. It's probably about time for another one.

I did not have any problem at all with the blower motor, maybe the Berlinetta has a different one or your air system is clugged. Check it out before waste your money.

Blower motor is getting old. They sell new ones, stock replacment type that do really well with better larger motors. I replaced the one in my truck with a autozone one $25 it blows as hard on medium as the old motor did on high and on high this new peice moves an insane amount air.

There is a blower motor out there from another gm vehicle that bolts right in to our cars and is more powerful than the stock one. Problem is, I cant remember what car it came originally on.

I was thinking of sticking some high flow computer case fans in the duct work to get it blowin harder. I got some 80mm 90cfm fans sitting around upstairs...

I just finished converting my AC to R134A. I replaced everything but the condenser and finally got the thing to blow cold, but the blower is so slow it feels like my Sable does on low.

Re: Does anyone make a better blower motor?
I find myself wishing for a "necroposting" smiley of sorts...
Anyways, the blower issue has several parts:
1. The motor is old. Along with the connections and wiring between the battery or whatever and the motor and ground.
2. The air ducts have foam insulation against the firewall and each other (in spots, some of the ducts just push into each other). This eventually dries out and disintegrates like old speaker cone surrounds.
3. For A/C cars, there is a strip of foam on either side of the evaporator in the engine half of the blower case (if factory evaporator is still installed, unsure about aftermarket replacements). This foam acts as a filter and will eventually become clogged, especially in drier, dustier climates, just like the filter in a home furnace. Keep in mind that ALL of the air entering the inner half of the HVAC system MUST go through the evaporator if installed. It may be a good idea to crack open the evaporator case and blow out the evaporator coils.

Re: Does anyone make a better blower motor?
Rig up a turbo switch that feeds the motor a full 12volts of power and get ready for HEAT.
I have my wagon rigged like that, cabin size makes it hard to heat.
[kinda funny as I used a 120v AC wall swtich, I let people assume thats why it blows better]

Re: Does anyone make a better blower motor?
I've always wondered if my evaporator coils are clogged. my air flow is very wimpy
how hard is it to get to one so I can blow it out?

Re: Does anyone make a better blower motor?
There's like 6 screws on the evaporator case. You will see where the cover joins the rest of the blower case and there are something like 4 screws there followed by a couple on the firewall. Lift the top up and off of the evaporator.
