yes, and it's so easy, even I did it.
Karl has a tech articel on it, along w/49.8 billion other threads started on this swap too. A quick search will bring you so many leads on this that it'll make you puke.

if youre going to get a 3.4, save up and get all the bolt on goodies that you can with it. and you can get a junkyard 3.4 for way cheaper than the crate 3.4. you can get the cam from the crate engine and a junkyard engine way cheaper then just the crate engine.
The 3.4 fits like a glove.
Really is a bloody simple well engineered swap/upgrade.
Look for my tech thread
2.8->3.4 Long Block Swap Boogie
IN end, open your hood now.
That's what the finished product looks like.
Exactly looking like you did nothing to your engine.
Crates 3.4 engines are NO LONGER PRODUCED.
There is a limited supply.
They cost now up to $2200 plus tax & shipping/your gas.
I have bought used LOW MILAGE running 3.4s and yes I pay premimum for that ($800 & 900). Average is $500 lowest is $210. Those needing rebuilding.
I suggest you do same thing, find a used LOW MILAGE 3.4.
In Maryland area is so easy, lots of rust hulks out there, already.
Get it intact, complete, and read the thread.
Atleast now I guess 80 or so & I'll bet that's less than actual swaps already done.
ONLY DO THIS SWAP IF YOU TRULY LOVE THE CAR.
It is a long term project, many hours/weekends/fine tuning in end.
My Firebird has over 20-30,000 miles since the swap. No complaints, just a few trials.
AND I Pass smog without a trouble! Cause it is a 1985 Firebird 2.8! I never say & it never shows.
How much faster & this and that?
WHO CARES
You are making a better car and if your current engine is dying/dead, as it's a wise way to rebuild the car, cheap.
HP is rated 160, Torque is rated 200 foot pounds.
