Whirring noise

I was having a few electrical problems so I decided to take care of any culprits all at once. All the culprits were looking shakey. One of these was changing out the alternator. Now that I have it changed out, I get a wierd whirring noise, like I have a tiny turbo, at anything above 2500 rpms. Anyone else experience this or did I just end up with a strange alt?

I'd say go get another alternator (for free) and check out differences.
