Ported MPFI manifold

Before I got my free V8 and started my swap, I pulled the manifold off my V6 MPFI. I ported out the upper and power manifold as well as gasket matched them. I never got the chance to put it back on and see what a difference it made. Was wondering if anyone else has done a port job or gasket matching on their MPFI intake setup. I'd really like to know if it makes a difference.

In honesty, a machinist told me it won't make any true difference due to the engine size is too small to truly make much air movement (as in power gains).

lol! I doubt that. Generally, the smaller the motor, the easier it is to push air through it. Granted, if the TB is matched to the flow of the manifold, then there wouldnt be a difference without a TB change.

my entire intake setup was ported and gasket matched. You get little to no performance but it revs like its on crack!

wait til you get a new intake like the trueleo intake, and a good set of headers with a good exhaust, things rev like he11. from what i understand, it is really hard to keep from over reving the engines. remember with stock parts 7,000 is the limit. i suggest letting off and shifting or letting it shift at around 6,000 just to be safe.

Redraif's intake and runners are ported quite a bit, though we changed the cam at the same time so I can't say for sure what the effect was. I will say that on a modded motor, particularly a 3.4, it isn't enough. Look at the dyno results on the Trueleo intake thread.
Also, unless someone has direct experience with these motors, don't listen to them. These engines are severely intake and exhaust restricted, and need all the help they can get.

get them to free up with the intake and exhaust and you got some really decent power from theese little things.
thought that you all were waiting for the trueleo intake to get there, LT1guy
by the way just incase you were talking about me, i now got 2 different 60* engines, as i bought a block this weekend for the buildup and well i still got the baby 2.8 under the hood. i have been tweeking with it waiting for the parts to get here for the other block!

We're waiting for the Trueleo intake; the stock intake has been ported for quite some time. Its just not enough.

From what was said it's now sounding like what happened to the Cross Fire Induction system of 1982, 1983 & 1984 GM model years.
Limited intake runners restricting the ability to make more power.
For comparison see what GM did under the hood of the new 2005 Caddy CTS.
I just read the 60* V6 mill is
Ready.....
3.9 litre
Dual Over Head Cams Heads
24 Valves
Varible Timing
240 HP
CAN WE BUILD IT?
YES, WE CAN!

IF ONE DAY I NEED DO, to this car, another engine swap, I'll probably upgrade to a LS1.
In honesty, I CERTAINLY HOPE NOT TO DO another engine swap in this car....
Other projects need my attention....
