Need a laugh?
Here is what I found today while working on my 3.1L...
Front two bolts on drivers side exhaust manifold were broken off.
No exhaust gasket on that side.
Donut at pipe seal broke in two on that side.
(Now I know where that exhaust leak was from).
90W oil in T5 transmission.
All 4 bolts on shift lever cover are hand tight.
Gaping hole where seal section is missing from transmission cover. (It leaks a bit there).
1 bolt missing on bellbousing. 5 remianing bolts are 7/16X14 instad of 12mmX1.75.
Starter is held on by one bolt.
Starter housing nose rubs ring gear. (could explain horrible noise when starting).
One pressure plate bolt is not quite hand tight. Remaining bolts are at about half spec.
No dowel pin on crankshaft flange (shouldn't there be?)
No pilot bearing.
The little disk shaped valve thingy falls out of oil filter adaptor when I remove filter (this can't be right?).
I can't wait to see what's next!!
