AC Compressor brace, What years?
AC Compressor brace, What years?
In my wrecking yard searches, I've noticed the AC Compressor braces.
My 1985, does not have that brace.
What years have that extra support?
Thanks

THANKS ONE & ALLL
ONLY other question I can ask is if your AC Compressor with brace has "more vibration" than ya believe it should?
Does mine Vibrate?
NOT SURE (don't believe so) BUT figure never hurts for hunting for that brace for upgrading shortly on a trip to the yard.
Any 1986s have that brace?
Yes I noticed the two studs (ME & WHO ELSE!?!?!)!

FOUND OUT SOMETHING TODAY!
I CANNOT USE THAT BRACE ON MY 1985 ENGINE
WHY
The AC hoses BOLTS ON COMPRESSOR on a certain way and that prohibits me being able to "get that brace outta yard & install on my car"!
How'd I find out?
Thanks 2point8boy!
We visited while I did my smog at his place today.
It helps to have a 1989 Camaro hood open to peak at & compare notes!

(laughs) As I was scrolling down, I was gonna tell ya that, but you figured it out first.
That brace was really just b/c of the whole serpentine setup of 87-92.
I just wish GM made separate mounts for the 85-86 a/c compressor and power steering; it's very obvious that my a/c was removed because there's a huge missing spot on that bracket. And every time I try to make one; it looks like I won't be able to make one as "solid" as that chunk of aluminum.

I have been running the car without one for awhile now with no problems. However, most of you may recall that I did install a V8 140amp aftermarket alt and had to make a custom front bracket that mounts at the 10 o'clock position instead of the 2 o'clock.
