maybe it got hot off the egr pipe?
That is the hose that goes to the purge canister. I broke mine. Just re-routed it using rubber flex line. You will need to cut the melted part off so that its a clean "cut". Then use rubber flex hose to patch it. Use tye wraps to hold the new hose away from anything.

rubber hose can be bought at any parts store. You need to measure the od of that plastic pipe, and that will be what your ID of the rubber hose is. Or just a hair smaller for tight fit.
Tye wraps will be in the electrical section at same store.
Air does not always transfer between them two parts. It only happens when the ecm tells it too(notice elec wires on the purge tank?). Then also, the TB will SUCK air from the perge tank to put into the engine to burn

Plus the vacuum line block at the top of the throttle body is ported vacuum, it's not a constant vacuum.
They'll call that rubber hose either "vacuum hose" or "windshield washer hose", both are the same for what you need. Some places even sell replacement plastic vacuum line, but rubber hose is all you need to patch it up.

REBELGQ, DO not use any type of fastener that will crimp down on the vacume lines. as for vacume hose routing, keep it as far away from heat as possible, it is really easy to do, just put the new on while you are taking the old off, and get yourself a box of 3 way connectors!
