Desktop Dyno this for me... Deciding on V6 rebuild or a V8 swap...

i'd love to have an uncommonly quick six banger 3rd gen. either way i'm going to do the suspension nicely so it'll hook, i figure if I can put out decent power on this motor for the price (minus turbo) of the v8 swap without all the hassle... why not? plus i'd be unique. i doubt it'll happen because im a v8 guy at heart, but humor me please.

stock 3.1 w/ 5 spd

pacesetter headers to 3 inch catback system with 3 inch high flow cat

cold air intake

fuel pressure bumped 5 or 6 psi

compucam 2030 grind (dur@.50 is 204/214 adv dur is 264/274 lift is 423/423 lob center is 109/109)

would be nice if you could play with numbers to imitate a mild port job on the heads.

if this makes decent power i'm thinking of fabricating a turbo for it and putting it under a few lbs of boost... if you could get numbers for it under 4, 7, and 10 pounds of boost (scary for these motors?) that would be great too.

wouldn't it be great to get a turboed v6 in one of these things to lay down 250+ rwhp? i would love that.

222 rwhp, already, here. I've got even more power now, with a bigger turbo and less boost.

BTW, August 20th, more dyno numbers on the T61.

I agree with u, im a v8 guy too but would love to have a fast v6 third gen, i dont think we'll get serious power without turbo.

The V6 is a great engine and doing the whole Turbo thing is a good idea.

But something about V8's is appealing - they're cruisers. Whatever you want man, It'd be a lot easier w/ the turbo.
