My very last intake design
I had been wanting to try this for a long time and now I have. It works and still clears under the hood surprisingly. Yes I do realize it will draw in more hot air, but I like how there is not very tight bend in it like I had before and isn't touching anything.

You said it yourself that is a bad design because you are picking up hot air 100% of the time coming through the hot radiator. Bends are not going to hurt you with 3" ducting leading from around the radiator.

As cool as it was to have it like that it indeed is giving me some slight problems so going back to style I had before. It doesn't look as great as I'd like it so its on to making the 10th one, hopefully next one will turn out alot nicer.

i dont know how this would work so dont jump on me if u guys think its a dumb idea. maybe use a RamAir hood like AdmAnt has on his car(make sure its functional) to push the air to the filter. this is all contingent on the filter lining up properly with the vents on the hood. and maybe make a plastic plate to extend past the radiator and angle down under the filter to block the hot air coming off the radiator. if the hood vents r lined up perfectly u may be able to angle the filter up as well. im not sure if ur design had issues due to the hot air or some other flaw inherent in the design.

Couple questions guys.
On the first pic, right behind the intake with the K&N. What is the sensor with the two small wires coming out above the throttle body and what is the plug right to the left of this. I'm trying to familiarize myself with all these random sensors on my Camaro.
Chevman.

the grey housing that the filter attaches to is the MAF Sensor. on the right side of the throttle body(based on the pic) those are not wires, they are vacuum lines. the large plug behind that is the IAC valve(idle air control). hope that is what u were asking about.
