what does this do to the ecm?

Allows the ECM to learn the position on the IAC valve so it can controll it acuratley. before this is done the ECM can idle the engine. It just doesn't do a good job at it. THis should be done any time the battery is disconected.

I can some times get a way with out doing this is the battery is disconected for less then 1 minute.
