idle air....

ok,,had some problems with my tps wires,, but got it figured out and reset.. now,i plug my idle air back in and fire it up...it hits about 2500 rpm and wont come back down... so, i start over,,, ground the idle sensor, recheck the tps,set my rpm to 600with the i a c unpluged, turn it off,, reconnect it,, wait for awhile,,start it up and it idles about fine, i turn it off again, so it can reset,, start back up , and it goes to 2500 and climbing again..... so, i take out the iac valve, pull the pintle out a bit, put it back in, and dont connect the plug to it.... i start it, and it idles sweet.... my vacuum is fine, at about-40 to - 45 and steady.... any other sugestions................thanks

plug the motor back in and drive the car above 40mph. This resets the IAC motor. Lets the computer know where everything is.

Everytime I replace an IAC, I've never done that long freakin' Idle learn procedure," I just drive the car above 40 and then the idle comes back down.
