Adjusting Hydrolic lifters
Well here is the problem. I just installed a new cam and everything was fine till the first run. Once I got a good pressure build up on the lifters the engine stopped. My solution is that I have over adjusted them. Well I went right by the book tightened them to 0 lash then 3/4 turns after that. So what I need help with is, is there a possiblilty of adjusting these things another way? Unlike the carborated engines you can leave the valve covers off and do it that way but with the fuel injected 2.8s you know there is this thing called the plemeum ( check the spelling) and you can't start the engine with it off. My other solution is to take the p thing off, remove the valve covers, put it back on, adjust the lifters, then put it all back together again. That way I know its right. Alot of work but it will be right and I won't have to worry about it again.
So I am taking all suggestions but please post before tomorrow morning b/c thats when I start my journey.
Thanks,
Derick ( 2.8L V6 freak) LOL

GM manual says 1.5 turns past 0 lash for setting valve lash. It seems like I remember some guys on here having no problems with the 3/4 turn thing... but I've had nothing but valvetrain noise with mine and I broke the cam/lifters in with 3/4 turn.
No suggestion on the engine stoppage though mang.
