strange happenings

today i set out to go to my parents and i was driving for oh say 20mins, i come to a stoplight car is running like it always does a bit chopy at 750 to 1000 rpms ide. its that way for say 10 seconds after i stop then i does this funny sputter then revs to about 2000 rpms and then falls to 500 and idles better than it ever has. so i get on the gas when the light changes and i goes like a bat out of hell compared to what it used to do even in cold start mode right after i start the car. any ideas as to what it could have been? changes i have made to the car in the last week are as follows.
1. valve cover gaskets/corresponding intake gaskets and injector o-rings
2. adjusted rocker arms to 1.25 turns from med resistance
3. thermostat/temp gauge
4. coolant change flush radiator with hose(hella lots of stuff came out.
5. replaced all vacume lines on the car
6. new gas cap (old one did not seal at all)
seems to me that these should have all had an effect as soon as i did them correct? rather than a week offset. oh changed the gascap the night before for the one off of my bothers Z.

would kill leaks, raising pressure helping.

Get an even resistance on rockers, helping power.

The very first thing anyone should do on a third gen. Deffinately helped idle.

uhm.... gnomes. only explination.

it may have been a cloged injector/injectors. would explain raspy idle and such. recent changes to things caused a blackage to blow through (creating a sudden drop to idle as fuel flow is momentarily halted then 2000rpm jump as the backed up fuel jets on thrue) and then a perfect idle as the system returns to optimal conditions. or a similar thing with the fuel pump/fuel lines due to gas cap replacement.

that or gnomes....
