engine problem??

engine problem??

2.8l fuel inject. starts up fine. sounds good idles good. put into gear...............putt..putt.. dies. cannot get it to go faster that 35 mph. when it will run. any ideas??

Engine: Clean oil, looks fresh, no leaks
Transmission: Bright Red, never burnt, no leaks
Axle/Gears: currently whining
Try testing the tps and check fuel filter

Can you rev the idel real hi in neutral or park??

clogged cat possibly. Bad IAC/Passageways too.

have you let the car warm up when parked before trying to put it in gear?

Check rotor and cap, timing. I've learned this the hard way, those things can totally screw with your car. By that I mean those thing caused problems that I (and quite a few other people) was leaning closer to a fuel issue rather than a spark issue.

check the mass airflow look at the inside elements if they look dirty you can try cleaning them but i never had any luck at cleaning them

Axle/Gears: open 3.42, posi 3.42
if the maf is suspect just unplug it and drive around like that. it will throw a code, but the ecm just reverts to default fuel tables to run the engine. far from ideal, but it will support a lot more than 35 mph.
