Fuel Tank hissing

My car does this when I remove the fuel cap.Is this normal? Just wondering

Wow its good to know mine isn't the only one that does it. 89karr I see that your 700r4 tranny is slipping too. Mine does it when shifting from 3rd to 4th gears.

yup yup. I believe it is the pressure that id built up in the tank. My mom's Corolla and old Corlla also used t do it. BTW, mine occasionally slips from 3rd to 4th too!

Just keep the dube smoking around the fumes to a minimum

mine never hisses makes me wonder if i have a leak some where? i always smell a bit of gas when i start the car but i have thought that was normal as all the cars i have ben around that dont have cats did that(im in kansas if there are emissions laws here they dont say anything. i even asked a cop if there were E laws here and he had no clue!)

Xplane how old is your gas cap. Pressure could be leaking past the seal in the cap.

Try picking a new one up and see what happens i heard they go bad after a while. And also it can increase your MPG but i dont know if gthat part is true.

well mabe i will i think im gonna get a locking one to as there has ben a lot of people geting crap put in there gas tanks around here by kids.
