Fan doesn't work
The temp got up to about 220 then I checked to see if the fan was running and it wasn't. As it was sitting there in park the temp kept going up and the fan still didn't come on. I turned the A/C on and the fan wouldn't run then either. I checked all the wires that I know of, unplugged the sensor(?) that plugs into the fan and it had current going to it.
I'm not real sure what the wires I was looking at were but it looked like they were going to the fan so I assumed it had something to do with the fan. The wires were red with like plastic pieces over part of the wires, about an inch long. I followed it to where it ended, where it was bolted under a bolt.((had to take the air box off to get to them)) We tested the wires and it had current going through them. One of the other ends of the wires looked like it went to a fuse on the pass. side. We tested the fuse and it was working. It also looked like the wires went up the pass side, behind the distributor cap, to the drivers side where it goes through the firewall. We tested all the fuses under the dash and they all work.
Is there something I'm not doing right or didn't check?

if there was voltage to the fan , and the fan wasn't turning, i'd say it's time for a new fan.

I thought the relay in the driverside firewall provided a ground for the fan to turn it on? Could be wrong and just imagining things. I would look in the haynes manual, find out which wire is the ground and which is the lead for the fan motor, ground it directly to the chassis and supply power direct from the battery.

I found out I needed a new relay. I took mine off and it was all burnt. I'm still going to put the thermostat on anyway.

All you have to do is ground the green wire coming off the relay to the nearest grounded bolt and fan will come on. When I got my car I had similar prob. I hot wired fan and it worked fine so I went on to the relay. Relay tested fine and fan came on if I grounded green relay wire. I think my fan switch was bad or the wiring. Put new switch and still didnt come on and I said screw it so I just left the wire grounded and its always on. Alot of people do that. Hope yours works fine with the relay
