89 TTA Pace car decals. Put them on or leave them off?

Ok guys you are the pro's so let me know what you think! I've been on the fence with this since I've owned the car.. I have a 89 TTA Indy Pace car. As you know they came with a owners kit with decals for the 2 doors and the windsheild so you knew it was a Indy Pace car. My owners kit has the originals in it and I would never use them but.. I've purchased some NOS ones from eBay a little while ago and I don't know if I like these cars with or without those stickers.
I did purchase some Indy stickers on a magnet that sticks to the door but the white is a little white and you can see they are magnets.

So.. Do I leave the car as it is.. or put on my extra set of NOS stickers? Some pics below...

The Car as it is now...

The car with the magnet set on it...

And a picture of a friends TTA with the stickers on it..

You guys be the judge! Thanks!!!

the magnets were always my plan for my future stickerless TTA. put in on for shows. leave it off when you drive around for two reasons:
1.cop magnet
2. not that a TTA could ever be a "sleeper" but people might think its just a 350 if it has no stickers..... until they see the "turbo" on the tail as you blow by that is

if nothing else they kinda look tacky. would you use a TTA that said "pace car" on the side in a wedding? i would'nt.

but when it comes down to it do what YOU want. it's your car. btw AWSOME car

Thanks for your post Tony! So far it's leave them off from the votes! Sometimes I want them on other times I like it without. One thing is for sure.. I can drive down the road in the TTA and most people look over and think.. that's a clean GTA.. others don't even look. When I'm in the Grand National going down the road I get the thumbs up from everyone. So it is kinda nice to sneak around in the TTA! The really od part is 5 owners have had this car and they never seem to have made it on yet! Keep voting but I think I'll leave them off!

Correct me if I am wrong, but the car came with the decals from the factory, right? If it were my car, I would set it up to look exactly as it came from the factory, as it isn't every day that you'll see a TTA running around town. They are pretty rare, and should be observed in all its original "glory." But that's just my opinion.

Nice car, by the way.

EDIT: I just noticed the second pic... I definately don't like the way it doesn't blend with the surrounding white. If it comes down to the magnet set, I'd say leave it off as well.

Hey Nate thanks for the post and the compliments! The cars came with no stickers from the factory. Pontiac would later send you an owners kit in the mail. Had a cassette in there, Suppliment for the Firebird manual for the TTA. A TTA key fob, and the windsheild and door stickers. So it was totally up to the owner to install these if they wanted. So they didn'nt officially come from the factory with them on.

They also ran short on the TURBO badge that went on the fenders.. so many TTA's left the factory with those missing. Later they sent them to the dealers who's cars were missing them with a template on where it should be on the fender. Most of the dealers didn't install them as the cars were long off the lot or just to lazy to bother. I bet a few salesmen have them on their tool box at home!

So it's a good chance to see a turbo TA without and stickers on the doors or windsheild and also missing the turbo badges on the fenders!

I vote for the decals! They really give it that ready for the race track look, which is really what this particular F-body was built for anyway. I remember seeing one at the Washington D.C. international auto show in Jan. 1989. It attracted the most attention of any domestic model at the show that year. The TTA's are quite a sight in full road trim wearing their pace car decals.

I say keep them off until you are sure you've made up your own mind.

I like the clean look without the decals, but then again I don't own a TTA... and that sure let's you know it's one.

Thanks for your posts guys.. It's crazy.. I wish I had 2 TTA's so I could have the sticker set on one car and not the other! I really do like the look of the car both ways! Keep voting in the poll for me! Thanks again for your input!

Oh you don't have to worry about that! lol that is totally an 70/80's thing. The original owner of that car did that and he never removed it. It's much worse then what you see in that one pic too! He just sold the car but here is some more pictures of it.. Horrible pinstripe! http://turbobuicks.net/gallery2/v/Ph...S+CAR+IS+SOLD/

Hmmmm hey I think you gave me the idea.. I'll peel the stickers off the magnets I have.. Have my body shop paint match the car and shoot the magnets with the matching paint.. then put the extra set of door decals on the newly painted magnets! That might be the ticket!

Oh how about this nasty fast black TTA?

I like the stickers on the car. The magnets are kinda hokey and would take away points at a real car how. Them guys are super picky.

Though it does make your car stand out a bit more to the car thief.
[No alarm works as well as a hidden kill switch.]

And yea it sort of like the GN cars.
Would love to see one painted something other then black once.

Most Buick shows aren't much more then a sea of black

In the world of classic/collector cars, Gumby, there's one problem.. if the thief really wants it, they'll get it. I've heard of people's GNs being stolen via tow truck in broad daylight never to be seen again.

Don't even get me started on that subject! I use to repo for a living and I've taken cars off people with alarms.. kill switches.. clubs.. you name it and I still got it. With a little time and effort ANY car can be had! I don't care if you park it in the garage.. nose first with the wheels turned all the way. I got plenty of cars parked like that over the years!

Thanks again guys for your comments and posts! Keep voting the poll and posting for me!

Obviously ya can't stop the pro thief with nothing less than a 24hr armed guard. And even then if he has more guns and friends......

But its the common thief, teenager, crack head you gotta worry about. They steal or joy ride in $20,000 cars then trade em for $200 in drugs worth about $50 in real money.

last week a guy was killed for having nice rims and tires on his BMW.
